Ingredients:
Flour - 300 gm
Instant yeast - 5gm
Sugar - 10 gm
Salt - 1tsp
Butter - 30 gm
One egg + whole milk - 220 -230 gm
One egg and 2 tsp of water for glazing the bread
This recipe was found on My kitchen snippets blog.
Milk and egg mixture: beat the egg in the measuring cup, then add milk to make 230 gm of mixture.
I am lucky to have this nice measuring cup from France to be able to measure out grams of flour or sugar.
Otherwise one may have to use a scale.
Place the dough in the lightly buttered bowl, let it double in size in a warm place.
Take the dough out of the bowl, handle it in your hands gently , let in decrease in size.
Cut the dough into 10 pieces, cover and let the dough balls rest for 15 minutes.
Make your egg wash by adding water to the egg.
Place the dough on the baking sheet and let it double in size again.
I was making the "pigs " with my son, so we did not always have the patience to wait for the dough to rise.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Brush the egg wash. Bake for 8 minutes, reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 5 more minutes until golden.
You can find hand knead instructions on dailydelicious blog.
